The SpaceAwards competition includes all iterations of space design and innovation,
from spacecraft to habitats, hardware to human factors. Built on the 20-year foundation
of the Spark Design & Architecture Awards, the SpaceAwards are a Go For Launch!
Why Space? Why Now?
Until recently, Space endeavors have been driven by government and aerospace industries.
But with new public-private partnerships, opportunities are opening to mid-size and small
business as well. All will thrive in this fast-expanding ‘New Space’ era. Entrepreneurial
companies and clever innovators are inventing, improving and expanding the space tech
universe. Ambitious partnerships between these sectors are creating important solutions
to difficult challenges. Impacts for society and wealth creation are just beginning to unfold.
Space is getting hot!
The SpaceAwards helps firms validate their ideas and investment. We are a portal—gathering
great new solutions, selecting the most elegant and efficient designs and elevating them.
SpaceAwards winners will use their awards to gain recognition and promote their ‘chops’ to
stakeholders, investors, potential clients and employers.
Who Can Enter the Competition?
The SpaceAwards are international in scope. Produced work is great. Concepts are cool and
both pro and student work is welcome. We invite participation from all concerned—aerospace
designers, engineers, educators, design firms, manufacturers, institutions, marcom and PR
firms, schools, students and entrepreneurs—anyone with a great space design solution.
(But no Political, Weaponry, Social or Automated entries please.)
Process
The SpaceAwards are conducted along the lines of the other Spark competitions—same criteria,
registration, entry and judging systems. The SpaceAwards continues Spark’s core Mission and
basic Criteria. The competition is entirely “virtual.” That is, it is entered and judged online. No
materials, boards or designs are delivered to Spark. The Jury will see and judge from digital entry
media, images, videos, apps and descriptions. It’s easy.

are online. If not entering now, OK, no problem. We’ll send deadline and other news about 4x a year.
