Student Entry Fees
2023—Spark’s 17th Year!
The Student Design Fees are specifically for University-level and above Student designers in all disciplines.
Spark works hard to provide the best value of any of the major international design awards, as well as having the most modern competition criteria. We usually have lower fees than the other major design awards—in many comparisons Spark is less than half the cost of those competitions, when all their fees are added up. We urge all designers to research and inform themselves about these facts.
Spark has a two-phase process for entry fees. “Phase 1” consists of a basic registration fee, which all entrants pay to participate. These entries are then judged by the Spark Jury Chairs to select a shortlist of Finalist Candidates for the “Phase 2” live jury, which selects winners. There is a second fee for the shortlisted Finalist Candidates, which must be paid prior to the live jury sessions (before the deadline). Only the shortlisted Finalists pay this second fee. The shortlist will be announced on the Spark website home page and by email. Only Candidates who have paid their fee can be considered official Finalists.
1. General Student Entry Fee (All Entrants)
Early: Phase 1 Registration, US$140
2. Phase 2 Shortlist Finalist Fee (Finalist Candidates Only)
3. Series or Campaign Fee
Multiple, related entries, like a family of kitchen appliances or a cell phone and case, may be submitted with a single registration. The series fee is an additional $55 one-time surcharge, for any number of additional pieces.
Payment Method Payments are made directly to our secure online registration page. We accept the following credit cards: VISA, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Diners Club and Discover.
In special circumstances, Spark can also accept payment via Paypal and bank wire with their standard service charges and by check (USA checks only). Contact Spark for these payment methods.
If you have credit card issues, or what seems to be an unusual charge, please contact us before disputing the charge with your card. It may be an easy to resolve problem. (You can always go to your card issuer if necessary.)
All dates and fees subject to change. Fees are due upon initial registration and submission (upload) of entry data and media. Refunds are available, up to 6 weeks prior to final deadline.
