Irina Kozlovskaya, Director, Industrial Design, Fitbit

Irina is a director of industrial design at Fitbit, where she leads a team of designers working to build products that help transform people’s lives.

Prior to joining Fitbit, Irina worked with a broad range of companies, as well as founding a New York City based design consultancy, Vim & Vigor. Her client list includes global brands such Nest, HTC, Kitchenaid, Martha Stewart, B&N Nook, as well as startups. Irina grew up in Russia in a family of architects.  After moving to the US, she attended Rhode Island School of Design, receiving a BA in Industrial Design.

Her work has been recognized by IF, ICFF Studio, IDEA, and Spark awards. Irina is a vice chairwoman of Women in Design San Francisco.

In her own word: “”I build, develop, and lead exceptional design teams. I form teams of gifted designers and invest in their development and happiness, thereby creating a wellspring of extraordinary ideas and products.

My passion is for fostering open and collaborative cultures focused on learning and growth. Designers are encouraged to think for themselves and take ownership of their projects, while being supported through guidance on the journey to making robust concepts. An environment of trust is established. Here designers come together to provide each other with feedback and work as a team to elevate one another’s ideas.

My belief is that a company where people are excited to come to work everyday and do their best is not only poised to disrupt markets but to continually deliver exceptional results.”
