Agota Jones, Design Thinking Instructor, Academy of Art University

Agota teaches life-centered design thinking in industrial design courses. She holds an MS degree in biomimicry, and an MA in industrial design. She is working on bringing biomimicry’s life’s principles to the classroom and the design curriculum. One of her latest projects is putting together a workbook for brainstorming.

Previously, Agota worked at frogdesign and designafairs (a Siemens-owned design studio) and has received prestigious design awards. In her spare time, she volunteers at Laguna Ocean Foundation to learn about sea creatures and study their behaviors and the functions they do. She is a member of Sharing Nature’s Genius, a pioneer community that creates nature lesson reports, translating biological strategies for designers.

She has served as a jury member for design competitions, the Biomimicry Youth Design Challenge, and the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). She is also the creator of the fruitbridge and luckyroundavocado.com.
