Hugo is an industrial designer and motorcycle builder. During a career of twenty years, Hugo has worked with design industry giants Bill Moggridge (IDEO), Sir Rodney Fitch (Fitch Inc), and Sir Terence Conran (The Conran Group).

Hugo trained at the Royal College of Art under Pentagram’s Daniel Weil before joining IDEO in 1995. Hugo founded his London studio in 1998 to work with clients including Nike and Ford. In 2003 Hugo emigrated to America as Fitch’s director of global product development, winning the consultancy nine awards in three years.

After a period in New York heading the Arnell Group Innovation Lab, Hugo returned to London as MD of product, packaging and branding business Studio Conran. In 2012 he joined Native Design, specializing in design-led business innovation programs. In 2014 Hugo returned to America, establishing Untitled Motorcycles in San Francisco. His HyperScrambler custom motorcycle was recently featured on Jay Leno’s Garage on CNBC.

Breaking news: Hugo won the 2017 Design & Style Award at the Quail Motorcycle Gathering (the motorcycle version of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance), beating 320 other entrants with his custom 1975 Moto Guzzi ‘Supernaturale’.
