Concept Pro & Student Design

Spark Concept & Student are part of a series of exciting awards created to encourage great design and designers. We invite you to join the Spark Community and enter your best designs. Come on in, join the fun!

The next entry period will begin shortly for Spring Semester design students and any professionals with a great concept to show the world.

The Spark Concept & Student Awards are focused on work that is in the idea stage, and are the primary home for student entries. It is not for spec work, nor work intended for production or commercial realization. The emphasis is on ideas.

Spark Concept & Student is for any discipline of design. This includes graphic design, product, user experience, motion, architecture, interiors, medical and many others.

This competition continues Spark’s mission, criteria and categories. All Spark events are international in scope and accept entries from all designers, everywhere.

We believe design is a critical tool to accelerate human progress. Our Criteria are modern and compelling. If you or your organization create great designs, don’t miss the opportunity to compete in these important events.

We invite everyone to participate—students (individuals, teams or classes), professional designers, art directors, architects, engineers, teachers, design firms, manufacturers, institutions, ad agencies and entrepreneurs may enter, interact and enjoy Sparking.

Because concept design entries are often student work, Spark Concept events are timed to facilitate entries from the main school semesters. That means we have a set of deadlines for both Spring and Fall semesters, after which we choose Finalists. Then all Finalists, from both semesters, are judged by a live jury in November and winners chosen. (Pro-level entrants may enter at any time, Spring or Fall.)

Important notes: work may be entered that was created anytime during the last 24 months. Student entries must be provable via student ID or copy of degree to win a Spark. All fees—primary entry fee, finalist fee and winners circle fee, must be paid in full to be considered an official Spark Winner.

The Competition disciplines have the same Criteria, Categories, website and registration system.

There are two pricing tiers—one for organizations, companies and professional designers, and a second for students and recent graduates .

Spark Concept is entirely “virtual.” That is, it is entered and conducted online, over the Spark website. No materials, boards or designs are delivered to Spark Concept.
