Moen Cascata

The Cascata is a bathroom faucet that “pours” by tipping the spout like one would tip a pitcher of water. Essential focused on enhancing the experience of using a bathroom faucet and challenged ourselves to try to make that experience memorable. This innovative design uses direct gestural control of a combination valve/spout, inspired by water pouring from a vessel. Cascata provides three primary user benefits: first, hands stay within the basin area as you turn the faucet off, so no water drips on the counter and minimizing mold and bacteria growth. Secondly, you can set and leave the water at your preferred temperature setting since the on/off control is separate. Thirdly, the simple gestural interface is a universal design since it requires only gross motor skills and no finger strength to actuate.
