 DATES & PRICES 1. Closing dates/prices for registration: • Phase I registration: Closed. deadline Midnight, PST, August 25, 2008. Entry fee: $175 for each design, $225 each series (including student or non-professionals).
• Phase II registration (open to all challenger candidates chosen in Phase I): deadline 5pm PST, September 5, 2008. Entry fee: $250 for each design, $300 each series (no charge for students with valid ID). Entry submissions must be received at Spark by September 5.
2. Campaign or series entries for either phase may be submitted with one registration and the entrant charged a single campaign/series registration fee ($50 surcharge). Series entries defined by their strongly linked characteristics or motif; for example, a set of kitchen appliances or a suite of furniture
3. Phase II Entry Delivery: Entrants are responsible for delivery, pickup, additional packing charges and any insurance. All Phase II designs will be expected at the Jury site during the timeframe of August 25 to September 5, 2008. Entries which are not on site by September 5 will not be judged, nor fees refunded. Please send physical designs if feasible. If any of your entries are larger than 120” (305cm) in combined length plus girth, and/or weigh more than 50lbs (23 kg), please notify Spark as soon as possible at entries @ sparkawards.com or call 866-846-8990. There are no limitations on size or weight—this information is for planning purposes.
5. Juries: Phase I--mid-August, 2008. Phase II--September 8
6. Notifications: Phase II Challenger candidates will be notified beginning August 25, 2008, via e-mail and website. Phase II Finalists will be announced confidentially beginning September 15, with public announcements at the Awards Exhibition Premiere, October 3, 2008
7. Collection of entries: Non-winners will be notified of the pick-up dates and need to have work removed within that time period. The general time frame is September 9--12. Delivery and collection hours: from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Winners are encouraged to leave work, until Exhibition closes, before picking up.
8. Online Exhibitions: Beginning from entry upload to August, 2009, for Challengers and winners. 9. Students and Novices-- Phase II is free--no additional charge for Phase II (only pay for Phase I) (With student ID upon demand).
10. SparkAwards Events: No charge to confirmed entrants of Phase I or II: 1. Spark Design Seminar-- held September 6 at Autodesk Design Center in Spark jurying rooms, surrounded by design entries. Exhibition Premiere Celebration, with reception and Spark exhibition: October 3, 2008, Autodesk Design Center, San Francisco, California. RSVP required for both events, 2 weeks prior.
