TED CHIN

Ted is a true American original--a Bostonian Chinese American with a penchant for brain-driven creative. Since opening his advertising/ marketing agency in New York City, his name has become synonymous with innovation and simple, ingenious solutions.

Ted caught the advertising bug early on while running Omnicom's BBDO mailroom in Boston. He soon defined greater opportunities, becoming the youngest Vice President in Benton & Bowles' history (now part of Publicis) at 26. He founded Ted Chin & Company, Inc. at the urging of his mentor, David Ogilvy, who told him, "You're a damned good copywriter and a brilliant strategist and you should be using those assets to build your own agency." Ted did just that, founding his agency on a unique diagnostic process that detects problems before unleashing a single creative firebrand.

His client roster reads like a Who's Who of American business, with such luminaries as Mercedes-Benz Credit Corporation, IBM, CBS, Kraft Foods, Lindblad Special Expeditions, U.S News and World Report and The Visiting Nurse Service of New York. Ted has captured all of the top national creative honors; The Clio, Effie, Andy and Art Director's awards (dozens of times), including an unprecedented campaign which won all four in the same year.

Ted and his achievements are profiled in such books as Outperformers and Fast Track: The Super Achievers and How They Made it to Early Success, Status and Power. He has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Advertising Age and Adweek, among others.

As an acclaimed and highly opinionated speech-giver and creative judge, Ted is always ready to exhort others to reach for new heights of creative and strategic excellence
