BRENT OPPENHEIMER
Brent is the Principal of OH&CO, a New York-based brand consulting and design firm that he founded in 1999. Under his direction, OH&CO has conducted a wide range of branding programs geared to well established businesses to revitalize and leverage their brands, such as Amtrak, IBM, Viacom, Clear Channel, Skadden and The Wallace Foundation. OH&CO also works for younger, more entrepreneurial organizations that have mostly needed to build a market presence from scratch such as nTag, Cosí and SFX Entertainment. OH&CO won an IDEA award together with project partner IDEO for the design of Amtrak’s Acela high-speed rail service.
Brent was born and educated in South Africa where he received a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. He then set off to Switzerland where he worked for the French advertising agency, Publicis Groupe in Lausanne.
Thereafter he joined Addison Design Consultants in London as an associate director. During his time in Europe, Brent worked across several geographic markets and sectors for clients such as Shell, Nestlé, Heineken Breweries, Novo Nordisk, and the Barcelona’92 Olympic Committee, AVE (Spain’s high speed rail service), Swedbank and Bankgesellschaft Berlin. These engagements brought significant recognition within design and brand consulting circles, including an EFFIE award for work on Heineken and a D&AD award for the design of the official sports poster collection for the Barcelona Olympic games.
Prior to forming OH&CO in New York, Brent worked together with IDEO and FutureBrand (then Diefenbach Elkins). He has also spoken and lectured at several educational venues including at Harvard School of Design, at Art Center (Europe), at the Design Management Institute (U.S.) and is a founding member of the Spark Executive Advisory Council. The personal pursuits that Brent is passionate about include travel, photography and adventure motorcycling.
