MARGEIGH NOVOTNY, VP, STRATEGY & EXPERIENCE, MOTO DEVELOPMENT GROUP


Margeigh founded the Strategy and Experience group at MOTO Development Group to extend MOTO’s capabilities in rapid prototyping of new technologies to include design of next generation product systems and interfaces.

Prior to joining MOTO in 2008, she lead the Interaction Design Practice at Smart Design where the emphasis was on developing integrated hardware/software products for the consumer electronics market.  These products included innovative and award-winning content delivery platforms like the Kaleidescape home media server, an in-store digital music service for Starbucks/Hear Music, and a portable version of the Microsoft Media Center PC. Prior to joining Smart, Margeigh ran General Product, a consultancy focused on interaction for content delivery platforms and motion design for television and the web. Earlier roles include, Creative Director at Colossal Pictures, in charge of projects that fell between convergent technology and network television, and exhibition designer for Interval Research’s Electric Carnival, a multi-media research project that traveled with the 94 Lollapalooza tour.

Margeigh began her design career as an architect, she has lectured on media theory, aesthetic philosophy and entrepreneurship at California College of Arts [CCA] in San Francisco. She lives with her family on a salt marsh preserve in Marin County.
