GENERAL INFORMATION

ENTRY DELIVERY (NOW CLOSED)
Jurists will judge the actual, physical works, or mounted display boards of the designs, so you'll need to ship or deliver your entry to the Jury site by deadline or earlier if possible. The entry fee and all design submissions must be received by this deadline. There are no refunds for entries not delivered on time.

Upon payment of the fee, entrants will receive a confirmation page with the shipping destination address, a special entry bar code (required for tracking and VOTING) and delivery address label. You will need to print these as described below.

NOTE: To ensure that your barcode will be read properly by our scanners, please use "PRINT PREVIEW" before printing. Sorry, but this system will not work on Macs or when using Safari. Use a PC with Firefox or IE. Please make sure you are printing at the highest quality, with black ink and at 100% scale. Do not use the"Shrink to Fit" option. It should not print any larger than approximately 5" x 5" (12.7cm x 12.7cm). Make two copies-- keep one for your records, and tape the other barcode to an unobtrusive location on the design (on display boards, it should be on the front side), and affix the delivery label to your shipping package. (Please note: the barcode is our method of tracking your entry and the judge's only means of voting on it--make sure it is securely affixed to the design.)

If you are shipping the entry, write or type "SPARK AWARD ENTRY" to the outside of the box.

PLEASE SHIP BY
Regular parcel delivery services when possible (USPS, UPS, FedX, DHL). If you are using any other delivery service you must contact Spark BEFORE delivery takes place, to enable on-site handling.

Please note: NO DELIVERY CONFIRMATION POSSIBLE. Check with your shipper.

IMPORTANT SIZE INFO
If you are sending a display board, there are no size limitations, but please only send one (1) board per entry. (Can be 2 or 3 borads joined together.)

If you are sending a 3-d piece, and if any of your entries are larger than 120” (305cm) in combined length plus girth, and/or weigh more than 50lbs (23 kg), please notify Spark as soon as possible at entries @ sparkawards.com or call 866-846-8990. There are no limitations on size or weight—this information is for planning purposes.

Entrants are responsible for delivery, pickup, insurance, handling and related expenses. (Note: do NOT send rare or precious proto-type materials. Spark can not be responsible for their loss or damage.) Spark cannot be liable for loss, breakage or other damage to entries.

SPECIAL NOTES
Any necessary supplies or equipment for delivery (boxes, tape, forklifts, trucks, padding etc.) and labor must be provided by the entrant. Please notify your freight forwarder or supplier of this, as any extra costs involved in delivery are the responsibility of the entrant.

Entries sent to us from countries outside the USA should be cleared for customs and shipped by regular freight forwarder or courier. Your local shipping and Customs organizations will provide more detailed information.

Delivery will take place during normal business hours, weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m PST, unless by special arrangement. Please inquire about special arrangements by sending your request to: entries @ sparkawards. com (remove spaces before e-mailing).

If you would like to deliver your design personally, or by messenger, please contact Spark for special instructions and a delivery appointment.

Collection of Entries: You will be notified of the pick-up dates for your category. The general time frame is November 2 to 6. (Winner's entries stay on-site for the Spark Exhibition.) Non-winning entries need to be collected after the judging during the specified days. You or your designated personnel must dismantle and pickup or ship your entry between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on the collection days.  Should the products not be collected, Spark will have option of disposal (any extraordinary cost to be borne by entrant) or donating the entry.

If you wish to have a piece returned, you need to include a self-addressed, pre-paid shipping label (FedX, UPS, DHL), any customs paperwork (if needed) and appropriate packing material. Labor for return shipping will be provided by Spark Student Interns and billed to entrant at $35/hour for their time.
